Can I reserve a bicycle by phone?

No, it is not possible to reserve a bicycle by phone or email.

Is it necessary to reserve the bikes in advance?

If you want to be insured for your bicycle (especially holidays and holidays), this is wise. We can therefore give you the bicycles more quickly. You report to Counter 2. Customers with a reservation always have priority.

You can visit our branch and what is available you can still rent at that time.

How can I charge my rented electric bicycle?

You will receive the charger for the battery of your rented electric bicycle if you rent for several days. To use the charger, first insert the plug into the socket, then the plug into the battery!

All our bikes have 2 approved locks

All our bicycles have carrier straps. Note: these are not suitable to tie suitcases under. With a stretched binder you pay € 7.50.

What can you rent for parents with a baby under 9 months?

Your own Maxi-Cosi can be attached in our Cabby’s and in the Urban Arrow (electric cargo bike).

What can you rent for our dog?

Nothing at the moment, we have temporarily stopped renting out dog baskets and carts etc.

Do you also have children's mountain bikes?

We rent out different sizes of mountain bikes. The smallest size is XS which is suitable for a length of 1.50 to 1.55. The largest size is XL which is suitable for the height of 1.90+.

Do you also have children's e-bikes

We do not rent children’s e-bikes. All our e-bikes are 28 inches.

What if we have a breakdown on the road?

You will receive a pump and adhesive set from us. If you have taken out insurance with us and you are in the vicinity of Kennemerland, we will exchange or repair the bicycle for you. Are you renting for several days? Then you can take out insurance via FietsNed. Rent a Bike Haarlem does not mediate in this.

Can I change my reservation?

Can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation but we do not have a cancellation policy, which means that we cannot refund the amount paid.

What time can I pick up the bike and return it at what time?

Can the bicycles be returned in the morning at opening time?

This is possible, only with an additional payment of half a day’s rent. Does not apply to E-bikes

Does the collection address have to be the same as the return address?

Yes! where you got the bicycles, you also have to return the bicycles: Lange Herenstraat 36, Haarlem.

Can I return my bike earlier?

You can certainly return your bike earlier when you no longer need it. But watch out! the full rent remains valid for any timely return. You can find this in our rental conditions.

Do you deliver the bikes to the hotel or booked accommodation?

In principle not, as this is not always possible. If delivery can be made, we will charge driver costs.

What should I do in case of theft?

What should I do in case of damage?

What should I do if I have lost my bike key?

What is the minimum age for renting an E-bike?

At Rent A Bike Haarlem, the minimum age for renting an E-bike is 18 years.

What do I have to hand over when I rent a bike?

If you rent a bicycle from us, you must submit a valid passport or ID or a driver’s license. Another option is to pay a deposit of € 150 and hand in a copy of proof of identity. We put both in a sealed envelope in our safe.

Can I return the rental bike after closing time?

Unfortunately, you cannot return the rental bike after closing time. Closing time is at 6:00 PM every day. You return the bicycles before 5:45 PM.

Can I also rent a bicycle for half a day?

No that is not possible with us.

Can I get bike insurance?

Yes you can. The costs for bicycle insurance are:
