TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The signee hereby accepts and agrees to the following:
The vehicle was found in good condition.
All of the bicycles are new, have been checked and are in perfect condition.
The renter will return the bicycle in good condition. The supplier will survey the bicycle before returning the deposit.
Deposits are COMPULSORY for any rental. Deposits are always paid either prior to or the time when the rental period commences. The renter has supplied legitimate ID in the form of a valid passport, ID card or driving license and has received a receipt for the paid deposit. On returning the bike(s) and the receipt the renter will be refunded the deposit.
On return of the deposit the renter settles any outstanding costs due to damage or any relevant costs incurred during the rental period.
It is possible for companies to settle the total rental costs via invoice.
On renting several bicycles we ask that the invoice or total cost be settled in advance.
The rented bike(s) will be treated with care and returned on the agreed date. If the renter returns the bike(s) and other rented items after the agreed date and time the following rules apply:
On returning the bike(s) and other rented items after the agreed return time the renter will pay the full day’s rental price for each day that falls after the agreed time, starting from the agreed return time. The amount will be paid in full by the renter.
Rent a Bike Haarlem is open from Monday to Saturday from 0900-1730 hours. Renting and returning is only possible at these times.

Renters are accountable for any costs relating to the use of the bike(s) such as repairing flat tires, replacing bulbs, storage costs etc.
Fines pertaining to the use of rented items issued as a result of traffic offences are to be paid by the renter.
In the case of unforeseen problems/defects ALWAYS contact the supplier first. The supplier is not responsible for any afflicted costs and/or repairs even if caused by the renter.
The rented transport is strictly for renter use only and therefore not to be lent and/or rented to other parties.
The renter is held accountable for any damage caused by theft as well as any other damage caused to the rented objects irrespective of its form and/or how it was caused and whether it is the fault of the renter or that of a third party. The renter will settle all resulting costs under these circumstances covering repair costs as well as replacement costs, including the costs of the damaged parts. The full amount is payable by the renter to the supplier no later than the agreed return date of the object.
In the case of suspected misuse the supplier reserves the right to reclaim the rented object(s) before the rental period finishes.
The supplier reserves the right to claim the full amount owing from the renter from the deposit fee without prejudice to his right to pass the full cost onto the customer.
In the case of theft the renter is accountable for covering the replacement value of the bike(s) excluding loss of rent. Insurance policies are available. Please ask the supplier for more details.
In the case of theft the renter must file a formal report with the police. Evidence of the report must then be submitted to the supplier. Both keys must also be returned to the supplier. If these guidelines are not followed then the supplier is obliged to file a theft report with the police.
ALWAYS double lock! Never lock a bike freestanding. Always lock bikes either to one another or to a bridge/tree/lamppost etc.
The renter is legally accountable for any damage caused to third parties.
In the case of early returns the full rental price remains valid.
In respect of traffic regulations and locally enforced police rules it is strictly forbidden to:
Cycle on pavements/sidewalks
Collide with other vehicles
To carry more people than there are seats
To drive/cycle on the beach
On cancelling the agreement one month prior to the beginning of the rental period 25% of the rental price is payable by the renter.
On cancelling the agreement one week prior to the beginning of the rental period 50% of the rental price is payable by the renter.
On cancelling the agreement 48 hours prior to the beginning of the rental period 100% of the rental price is payable by the renter.
In the case of circumstances beyond ones control, difference of opinion or any obscurity about the terms and conditions any decision made by the supplier within reason will be binding.
By order of the above statements Rent a Bike Haarlem accepts no risk or responsibility whatsoever regarding damage or loss caused by the renter.
